I used to have the wrong password stored in with my e-mail preferences.

I converted these preferences to Seamonkey. I tried to retrieve e-mail. SInce
the password was wrong I got a new dialog prompting for my new password. I don't
think I was able to enter it (I had no feedback regarding the chars I entered --
no stars appeared as I typed the password, the cursor didn't move). I was unable
to enter a new password.

marek, what build are you using?
I was using 17/Nov/99 (I think there were two that day. If that's the case then
I used the second one).

I wonder this may be in davidm's court.
I don't think it is me. I would guess there is something wrong with ender

password fields. What OS? I know linux has had problems in the past and it

doesn't work on my several day old mac build

Marek, can you reproduce this problem with recent builds? It works for me with
today's build.
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
Using win32 build 1999112917m12 on win98 and linux build 1999113008m12 this
works for me too. I launched a profile in 4.7, selected remember password,
clicked Get Msg, gave the correct password and then closed the app. I edited
the prefs.js file to change the coded password to something else (making it an
incorrect password). I launched Seamonkey builds mentioned above, migrated the
profile, opened mail and clicked Get Msg. I was prompted to type in the
password, because the migrated one was incorrect. I gave the correct password
(saw the * for each character), clicked OK and my messages were delivered.
Marek, it you can still reproduce this please reopen. Verified
