User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:132.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/132.0
Steps to reproduce:
When sorting mails by date descending and threaded mode on, the sorting is incorrect. A new message with today's date is not added at the end but always one message "before the last one". See attached screenshot.
Actual results:
A new message is not added at the end of the message thread but added as next-to-last.
Expected results:
A new message should be added as the last message to the thread view.

Threading is not just by date, but there are levels. In your screenshot, note that the "wrongly sorted" is a reply so the particular message above, which is why it's connected to that.
Hi Magnus,
Thank you for your quick reply. You are absolutely right. I totally missed that. Probably due to the fact that I'm using the new and lovely "card view" instead of the the table view. In the new card view the levels are not represented anymore like they used to be in the table view. So you might forget about that... For the screen shot I switched to the table view for a better representation of the problem without really taking a closer look. Otherwise I should have seen that myself. Maybe the card view could be extended to show these levels somehow similar to the table view?! That would probably help a lot in reading and understanding the mail thread ;-).
