192960 - unable to open or see attachments that are listed in mail panel

Two problems - 1) I receive new emails and the email panel shows that some have
attachments.  When viewing the emails, there is nowhere to click for the
attachements.  I have to forward the email to AOL to get the attachment.  This
has been a problem in both Mozilla 1.2 and 1.3 as I attempted to upgrade and the
issue did not go away.
2) if I double click on an email message to open it in another window, I get a
black message in that new window.  Nothing is shown, not text, headers or
attachments.  This has also been a problem with versions 1.2 and 1.3.

Expected Results:  
In previous versions of Mozilla I was able to read/open attachments and able to
open messages in new windows.  I'd like to be able to do this again.

this may or may not have anything to do with the change to the display options
for message headers.  the "normal" header USED to display on the split bar
between the hit list and the currently open message ... and the button to open
the attachments window was on this bar.  when the headers were relocated to
inside of the message, no more attachments.

this is a ***** showstopper.

can someone change the severity of this to blocker?  thanks.

I followed the suggestions regarding the abook.mab file and now everything works
fine.
