Steps to reproduce:
Since we upgraded from Firefox 115 ESR to Firefox 128 ESR many users are calling because they are having problems printing mails. After the user prints some mail, Outlook/Firefox gets frozen, and they have to close the Outlook tab and open a new one.
I recorded a video to show the problem: https://youtu.be/y1fB56LxgK0
I can reproduce it in my PC, with Windows 11 and Firefox 128.4 ESR. It didn't happen two weeks ago with Firefox 115 ESR.
It happens with the policy UseSystemPrintDialog to true. If I set it to false it doesn't happen.
But if we set UseSystemPrintDialog to false we have two problems:
- Very slow response of the print dialog (bug already reported by other users in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1508575)
- Errors printing with thermal printer (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1836028)
Could someone help us to prioritize these bugs? We are at a dead end if we want to use Firefox.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Printing: Output' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks for the report. Would it be possible to capture a Performance Profile that includes the hang? That helps us see what Firefox is doing when the tab is locked up, and what might have gone wrong. (In the meantime we'll try to reproduce and investigate on our end as well.)
To capture a profile:
- visit https://profiler.firefox.com/ and click the button to enable the toolbar button.
- Then click that new toolbar button so that it turns blue (which means it's profiling).
- Then, try to reproduce the frozen tab.
- Once you've reproduced the frozen tab, click the button again to capture the profile (note, this might freeze Firefox for a short period of time).
- Then, once the profile visualization appears, click "upload local profile" in the top-right and click through that flow to get a link that you can share here (or feel free to share privately -- dholbert at mozilla dot com -- if you're concerned about any potentially sensitive info in the profile -- the profile does include URLs visited and low-resolution screenshot of Firefox tabs [unless you click the button to redact those while uploading the profile], but not much else that's particularly sensitive.
Thanks!

Dupe of bug 1898184 possibly?

Dupe of bug 1898184 possibly?
ooh, seems quite possible. Looks like that was recently uplifted to ESR128, with the fix presumably going out with the next ESR release (in 3 weeks I think per https://whattrainisitnow.com/calendar/ )

Dimas: feel free to disregard the request-for-a-performance-profile in comment 2, unless it turns out that you can still reproduce this Outlook tab-freeze in builds that include bug 1898184's fix (e.g. Firefox 133 beta or Firefox 134 Nightly, as of right now). If this is fixed in beta/nightly, then we can credit bug 1898184 with fixing this and don't need any further diagnostic info.

Assuming this is a dupe of bug 1898184, per last few comments, but please reopen or let us know if this still reproduces in builds with that bug's fix!
