Steps to reproduce:
Allowed firefox update and rebooted due to a sound issue on my pc.
Firefox Setup 132.0.2.exe
Actual results:
When I rebooted and opened firefox,
a) all tabs were gone and there was some weird page that had to do with accepting some new extensions (declined) and asking me to sign in, which I didn't because ...
b) my pw mgr extension was ALSO missing from the header? bar.
c) in settings also notice https setting was changed, and not sure what other settings might have been lost
Expected results:
restore all pages and extensions after update
NOTE: using chrome to report this, so I'm unchecking "Include your browser's user agent string"

Hello,
I’m attempting to reproduce the issue but I’m missing some details regarding your setup before the update.
- When you said “all tabs were gone” did you mean that the already opened tabs before the update were gone post update or has this something to do with bookmarked tabs? Still regarding this, do you remember if “Open previous windows and tabs” from about:preferences#general was enabled before the update? If it was, that might mean that the setting was disabled post update and might have to do with the loss of your open tabs.
- Still regarding “a)”, do you know by any chance what were those new extensions? There is a possibility here that the extensions you already had installed were updated with the browser update and their onboarding pages were displayed again.
- What password manager extension were you using?
- Can you recall what “HTTPS” settings were affected?
As a quick test, I did the following:
- I installed several password manager extensions: Bitwarden Password Manager, RoboForm Password Manager, 1Password: Password Manager, LastPass Password Manager, Norton Password Manager. I also pinned the extension buttons to the toolbar since you mentioned the extension was missing from the bar post update
- I enabled “Open previous windows and tabs” from about:preferences#general and opened several tabs to check if post update those tabs would be gone
- Under “HTTPS-Only Mode” in about:preferences#privacy, I switched from “Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode” to “Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows”, to check if settings will get reset post update
- I updated the browser
After the update, all tabs were still displayed i.e. not gone and the “Open previous windows and tabs” setting remained enabled; all previously installed and pinned to toolbar extensions were still installed and visible on the toolbar; the HTTPS setting did not get reset.
Tested on Firefox Release 132.0.1 updated to the latest version 132.0.2/20241110231641 under Windows 10.

Could it be that something (external?) changed your default profile?
Could you share the output of about:profiles and about:support?
about:profiles shows the profile in use, as well as other profiles that are known (but not in use).
