User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 When retrieving messages, "Transferring data" message at bottom of window pre-empts the much more useful "Retrieving message n of m" message, which prevailed in previous versions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Retrieve messages from server. 2. Try to discern how many messages are on the server, and what is the number of the message currently being retrieved. 3. Actual Results: Counts of the current message and number to be retrieved, if they appear at all, appear too briefly to be readable. Expected Results: Show counts of message being retireved and number to be retrieved for long enough to be able to read them.

Yes, this does seem to be the same as bug 190044, which I did not find when doing a search on the words "Transferring data". Solution would seem to be to suppress the message "Transferring data" when a count of the current and total number of messages to be retrieved is available. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 190044 ***
