(Keywords: perf)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/130.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Thunderbird

I use Thunderbird 128.4.3esr (64-bit).

Actual results:

Whenever I open the app, it freezes and shoots "Not Responding" errors non-stop.

Expected results:

It should have everything running in the background without any issues.

Possibly due to bad interaction with antivirus or similar software?

ARTman, did this behavior start happening after an update to a specific version of Thunderbird?

I haven't seen any notifications from Windows Defender yet, but if you could suggest any actions to take to maybe suss this out, I'm open to suggestions.

Not really. I actually switched to Thunderbird this past month. Haven't seen any updates yet AFAIR.

You can start windows in fail safe mode to test. That should disable anti-virus and such.
