Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:132.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/132.0

Steps to reproduce:

Play an audio source in Firefox. It's most easily reproduceable on short separate audio outputs, such as language learning sites like Duolingo or Memrise, but can also happens in other places such as a video or music playback (tested on Youtube+Spotify), especially when skipping to a different place in the video/song.

Actual results:

Playback briefly stutters, abruptly cutting off some of the output

Expected results:

Playback happens smoothly

I've linked here to a video (too big to attach) showing this issue. I'm not sure why Android has decided to not record any of the sound from Chrome, but IRL none of the audio playback from Chrome is cut-off or stuttery etc, it playbacks completely smoothly, while you can hear that sometimes, not always, but relatively often the audio playback in Firefox does cut out.

Ignore the User Agent string, I intended to remove that. I've written up the bug report on my laptop, whereas the issue only happens on Firefox for Android.

Hello,

I've been having this audio stutter issues for months, if not years, now.
I'm currently on Pixel 8a with Firefox version: 133.0

I had the same issue on Pixel 4a.

For example. On the following sites when I press the icon to play the sound for the word "stutter" and "rufen" the audio plays with a stutter.
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/stutter
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/german-english/rufen

No issues when playing sounds on chrome on android nor on desktop version of Firefox (Linux)

I use ublock origin but the issue persists even when I disable it for the page.
