User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 On my machine Mozilla does not seem to show any web site icons (favicons) except for mozilla.org itself. No icon is displayed in the URL-field, tabs or bookmark window for sites, which I know do have favicons, like www.yahoo.com, www.avault.com, www.cnn.com, www.theage.com.au. Only the default bookmark icon is displayed. I have tried to switch the option "Show Web Site Icons" off and back on again, I have cleared the cache, I have deleted bookmarks with the default icon, reloaded pages and bookmarked them again. None of this makes any difference. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type in any URL, which is known to have favicons. 2. 3. Actual Results: Page is loaded, default bookmark icon is shown next to URL, default bookmark icon is shown next to page title on tab, default bookmark icon is shown under bookmarks when page is added to personal bookmark file. Expected Results: After loading the page, favicon should be shown next to URL and next to page title on tab. It should also be shown under bookmarks when page is added to personal bookmark file. Bookmarks were originally imported from IE. I do not think this has ever on my machine with any version of Mozilla (starting with 1.0).

Mozilla displays only favicons with a link in the page source. This avoids 404 errors in the web server logs. add this in a test-file "user.js" in your mozilla profile : user_pref("browser.chrome.favicons",true); (create it if it doesn't exist, use the same location as the file "prefs.js"). see the release notes for the path -> invalid (no bug)
