Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Be on macOS.
  2. Open https://www.mozilla.org/ in a new tab.
  3. Click any link.
  4. Scroll down a bit.
  5. Scroll up quickly with a fling, so that the page is rubber-banding at the top.
  6. During the rubber-band animation, hold the overscroll animation, for example by putting two fingers back on the touchpad.
  7. While holding, move your fingers sightly sideways. This will initiate a back or forward navigation.

Expected results:
The rubber-band animation should continue to be held during sideways-swipe, and the animation should resume if the fingers are lifted.

Actual results:
The rubber-band animation resets as soon as the fingers move sideways.
