  2. Input a string in the urlbar and submit the search.

Expected result

  • Persist search term is retained.

  • Persist search term is NOT retained.

Reproducible on a 2024-12-16 Nightly build on Windows 10.
Verified as fixed on Firefox Nightly 135.0a1 on Windows 10, Ubuntu 22, macOS 14.
Search term now persists for Wikipedia in localised builds. Tested on ar and fr builds.
