Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:133.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/133.0

Steps to reproduce:

Log into a fedora 41 kde plasma spin wayland session, open firefox and use it for several minutes. No youtube or spotify or anything resource hungry, just scrolling news or something like that.

Actual results:

Scrolling feels laggy, inconsistent and makes it uncomfortable to use firefox. It may have not been strong when I tried to capture it with the profiler. Ask ANY questions if needed, you can also request me to try and capture a laggier moment with the profiler than the one I managed to capture.

Expected results:

Smooth, "normal" scrolling that feels consistent. One unit of scrolling (the smallest rotation on the scroll wheel possible) should always take the same time to scroll on the screen.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core

Update: found something interesting. When the scrolling feels laggy, when I open testufo.com and then come back to the website I was using before, scrolling feels normal again. Below is a capture where I scroll, change the tab to testufo.com, wait a few seconds, return to the original tab and scroll more. Before visiting the tesufo.com in the capture, it feels laggy, after that, not anymore. Then it starts to slowly degrade again but that isn't included in the capture.

Please attach your about:support page. Do you use any hi-res mouse like Logitech MX or so?
