After selecting text in a message, and attempting to search the Internet with browser, nothing happens. This worked until a relatively recent update. Tried both ESR and Release. - Uncaught ReferenceError: openWebSearch is not defined

Selected text in message and attempted to search the Internet using browser.
(right click menu)
Actual results:
Nothing
It worked in the past.
Expected results:
TB should have search for the text on the Internet using the selected browser.
Tried both (most recent) ESR and Release.

Do you get anything of relevance in the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J) when this happens?

No idea then. Perhaps the install is somehow broken/incomplete. Consider reinstalling (data will be kept).

I don't know either.
After TS mode, I lost most of my settings and languages.
After reinstalling lost functionality, and getting everything nearly back in order, it works again.
I suppose we'll never know why.
