User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:135.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/135.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Install Kagi search extension.
- Set Kagi as a default search engine.
- Use the address bar for any search with Kagi.
Actual results:
I see the whole URL in the address bar.
Expected results:
Like with preinstalled search engines, I expected to see only the search query in the address bar.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
Component: Untriaged → Address Bar

Hi Dmitry,
Thanks so much for filing this bug. The steps to reproduce are accurate but for now, we only provide the ability for search queries to persist on pre-installed search engines. This distinction will be included in the SUMO article that describes the persistent search feature.
