When a language is not known to the translations engine, then the language name from the page language is acquired from the L10N naming list. It appears the formatting on language name + script might not be as expected. For example, in bug 1937842, a page in Simplified Chinese was displayed as Chinese (Simplified Han,China)
.
Comparison:
Desktop uses just Chinese
as the language tag before support was added.
The translation engine displays this as Chinese (Simplified)
when model support is added.
Will need to consult with L10N or a content designer on how this should be formatted.

Block in TranslationsDialogBinding.kt that needs to be examined:
val userLocale = browserState.locale ?: LocaleManager.getSystemDefault()
LocaleUtils.getLocalizedDisplayName(
userLocale = userLocale,
languageLocale = documentLocale,
)
Likely getLocalizedDisplayName may need an adjustment.
