Preconditions:

  • Set pref browser.contextual-password-manager.enabled to true in about:config
  • Enable Sidebar

Steps to reproduce

  1. Click the "Add" button to open the form
  2. Leave the form mandatory fields empty(Website address and Password)
  3. Attempt to save the form by clicking "Save"
  4. Observe the mandatory fields

Expected result

  • When attempting to save an empty form, the empty mandatory fields should be highlighted in Red.

Actual result

  • Fields are not highlighted in Red when attempting to save an empty form, making it difficult for the user to identify the missing information.

Tested this with Firefox Nightly 138.0a1 (2025-03-03), on macOS 14.7 and the Password field is now highlighted in red when attempting to save the form empty, but the Website address field is highlighted in blue. This might be related with the fact that the Website address field gains focus automatically after pressing the "Save" button (please see the attached screenshot in Comment 2).
