Steps to reproduce:

All it takes is to resize a Thunderbird window, and all the column and row sizing get screwed up. This is particularly irritating, because while I normally use TB maximized to my screen, when I move it between displays of different resolutions the column and row spacings are not consistent, and in some cases just wrong.

Actual results:

Terrible and atrocious resizing. In one case the Size column is expanded across 1/5 of the screen, when it should only need about 1/20 of that space.

Expected results:

More elastic, and ideally, more elastic resizing of various panes and columns.
