Steps to reproduce:

Won't open any website. Shows no indication of loading, and nothing ever appears in the tab.

This happens from time to time and is really frustrating. I have loads of open tabs because I am working on various projects, and suddenly nothing is working. It's possible that the browser has updated in the background, but it sure isn't telling me.

Being forced to restart means I will loos all my unsaved context/stuff, which would really suck. So I am currently creating this bug report in safari, which is ridiculous.

This has been an issue for at least one or two years (across different versions) but I am finally annoyed enough to report it.

I really really want to support an open source and privacy focussed browser, but I am close to giving up on firefox.

Actual results:

The URL in the addressbar updates to the desired URL, and in the statusbar in the bottom. But nothing ever gets loaded, and I do not see an error/update message either.

Expected results:

The website should load or I should see an error.

When you encounter these issues, could you capture some HTTP logs for us?

I just enabled logging as described, I still had the problematic browser window open.

I set the log directory to be my documents folder, which made a blank log file appear. But when I try to visit any website, it doesn't result in any entries in the log file, it remains completely empty.

I just noticed that when going into the "About firefox" window it says that I can restart the browser to apply an update. So the issue is probably related to that.

Can you try logging to the profiler instead, after applying the update?

I will try that when/if it happens again. So far, after the update everything is working fine.

Unless you want me to collect profiler logs even though everything is working right now?
