This is to request the option of surrounding quoted messages in replies the way it is done when forwarding them. This is particularly important to avoid deeply nested quotes. As an additional enhancement it would be great to be able to strip indent characters and replace them with surrounding brackets. As a further additional enhancement it would be great to be able to choose alternate indent or bracketing characters and explanatory lines. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I would like the option of having a quoted message be headed with a string like Sender <sender@sendersdomain> wrote: and ended with End of quoted message
Any further action on this? It is still a priority for me, as it is a constant chore. I would also like to be able to set a date/time so that the quoted passage would be headed by At date/time Sender <address> wrote:

This RFE deserves to be kept open and to be fixed. It should be an easy fix: Just give the user choices of how he wants to handle quotes as a default and from reply to reply. It should also include options to set the date/time of the message as well as the sender, so that it is easier to keep messages separate.
