Steps to reproduce:

I have a long established calendar set up in Thunderbird to synchronise with a calendar on Nextcloud running as a CalDAV server. It works as expected for a long time.

Actual results:

At some point the calendar stops synchronising events from the CalDAV server to Thunderbird, although events which I add to the calendar on Thunderbird are synchronised to the CalDAV server.

Expected results:

Events created on the CalDAV server calendar (either via Nextcloud web interface or via DAVx5 from calendar software on Android) should be synchronised to Thunderbird's copy of the calendar.

A successful workaround to get the calendar synchronising in both directions again is:

  • Go into the properties of the calendar in Thunderbird, deactivate "Offline Support", and click OK. The calendar events disappear.
  • Go back into properties again, reactivate "Offline Support" and click OK.

The events are then resynchronised from the CalDAV server, including new events which had previously failed to synchronise.
