User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:135.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/135.0

Steps to reproduce:

Tried to unblock an item from the Browser Guard latest release (3.0.12 beta). If the UI lists 1 or 2 items, the unblock selection graphic is incomplete, and cannot be selected.

Actual results:

Incomplete graphic/fly-out shown, cannot be selected for the required action.

Expected results:

The "allow on this site" action should be available to select.
NOTE: I have a case open with MalwareBytes Browser Guard, BUT, I noticed that the DOM Mousevent bug 1944191 sounded very similar to this issue, fixed in FF version 135.01, that I have updated to, and I can still reproduce a similar sounding issue.
I have opened this in case this Extension UI is suffering from a related or edge-case issue/bug for this type of problem, in the Firefox DOM Mouse-event code.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'WebExtensions::Untriaged' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Product: Firefox → WebExtensions

I tested both the latest stable release of Malwarebytes Browser Guard (v2.6.27 - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/malwarebytes/) and the beta version (v3.0.12 - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/malwarebytes-browserguard-beta/) on https://shop.winandoffice.com/manuals/ms-office-2024-pro-plus/ and noticed the following:

  • with the stable release, the popup with “Allow on this site” is fully displayed below the tracker that is being blocked. The popup is being generated in front of the extension panel (that is how I would best describe it)
  • with the beta version, once I click on the 3 dots to display the popup, the popup is generated inside a limited height box where the blocked tracker is shown, and it indeed looks cut off. However, a scrollbar appears, and I can scroll down to reveal the entire popup with “Allow on this site” and use that option.

See attached screenshots.

So, it appears that on my end I cannot really reproduce the issue as the presence of the scrollbar allows me to access the option even though visually it doesn’t look great with that popup being cutoff initially before scrolling. However, it’s strange that on your end the scrollbar does not appear.

Also, this most certainly looks like an issue with the beta version of the extension as compared to the stable version and not an issue with Firefox.

Tested on the latest Nightly (137.0a1/20250220214610), Beta (136.0b8/20250219092102) and Release (135.0.1/20250216192613) under Windows 10.

Many thanks for Testing this. I had not spotted that the very small scrollbar would move (it is very difficult to see, as it is very small, and when you mouseover, it tends to disappear, depending on exactly where you put the mouse cursor).

I raised this because the linked bug sounded like it was partly related, and I did not want Malwarebytes trying to blame it on Firefox, if it was NOT that bug, and not to blame. Seems like they may have a Dimension or Bounds issue? I am still awaiting a response from them.

Please close as invalid unless you think otherwise.

Can you please link the issue you submitted to extension developers, if others find this bug by searching?
