Preconditions

  • Have the pref ‘browser.contextual-password-manager.enabled’ set to true
  • Have the Passwords sidebar opened
  • Have some saved logins

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: macOS 14, Windows 11, Ubuntu 22.04
  • Unaffected platforms: none

Steps to reproduce

  1. Click the "Edit" button for any saved login
  2. Open a new window (Ctrl+N/Cmd+N) and click the "Edit" button for a different login than the one in step 1
  3. Press the "Save" button and observe the behavior

Expected result

  • The "Edit password" from should remain open in the first window

Actual result

  • The "Edit password" from is dismissed in the first window when saving a different login in the second window

Regression range

  • Not a regression, as this is a new feature
