Steps to reproduce:

In Thunderbird v128.xx on Linux, tried to view a video (mpg) attachment.

Actual results:

Video flashes then disappears.

Expected results:

Video to play in VLC as it does Thunderbird v115.xx.

Does the video show if you open it in Firefox?

No it does not

The video must be using an un-supported codec / feature then.
