Prerequisites

  • Set the pref "browser.contextual-password-manager.enabled" to true in about:config
  • Have the sidebar enabled
  • Have the Passwords sidebar open
  • Have several passwords saved

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Edit Form for an existing password
  2. Toggle the password visibility (click Show Password button).
  3. Do not make any other changes to the record and click Save
  4. Observe the notification that appears

Expected result

  • The "Password saved" notification should only appear when an actual change to the password is made and successfully saved.

Actual result

  • The notification appears when toggling visibility.
