User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030226 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030226 I have generated 16GB local html file. In open dialog, it is shown with file size 0. After selecting it and clicking open, it says "You do not have the permisins to view this directory" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.generate large html file 2.wait, wait, wait 3.try to open it in mozilla Actual Results: After selecting it and clicking open, it says "You do not have the permisins to view this directory" Expected Results: Open it, or say something like "It it too big for me"
Do you get the problem with 1gig,2gig,4gig,8 gig files? If the error appears around 2 or 4 gigs could be a 32-bit pointer problem... While I think that mozilla should produce a better error message, I don't think you should ever expect it to parse this file, as HTML isn't really designed for partially opening files which would be nessasary for a file this big...
i suppose i could test this w/ sparse files on other os's...

Unless you're on a 64 bit OS you'll probably have problems getting it into memory. However I think you should be able to download such a file see bug 184452
