Preconditions

• Use FR VPN
• Have the pref 'browser.search.region' set to FR
• Have at least one address saved in about:preferences

Steps to reproduce

1. Reach the Address form on https://merci-merci.com/
2. Click on the Country dropdown field and select a different country (e.g. Australia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Croatia)
3. Autofill the address form from any field by selecting one saved entry from the autofill dropdown (e.g. from the Name field)
4. Observe the behavior

Expected result

• All fields should be autofilled accordingly

Actual result

• Depending on the country selected in step 2:

• (e.g. Australia) Postal Code and City fields are autofilled but they are not highlighted in yellow and if clicking on them, autofill dropdown is displayed instead of the Clear autofill dropdown
• (e.g. Zambia/Zimbabwe) Postal Code and City fields are not autofilled - they remain empty
• (e.g. Croatia) Telephone field is highlighted in yellow but it remains empty when the autofill was triggered from it

• The issue reproduces regardless of the state of the extensions.formautofill.heuristics.detectDynamicFormChanges / extensions.formautofill.heuristics.fillOnDynamicFormChanges prefs
• Not reproducing in Chrome for the City and Postal Code fields, but the City dropdown is not updated in Chrome

As of Fx139 address autofill is supported in US,CA,FR,GE,GB by default. Changing the country value from a supported region (US,CA,FR,DE,GB) to another supported region during autofill works as expected.

Note: I have filed Bug 1962034 for any country change on which the whole form gets replaced (e.g. AT, BE), because the autofill functionality breaks for those.

Verified this using Firefox Nightly 139.0a1 (2025-04-23), on macOS 14, and I am still able to reproduce the issue as described in Comment 0, with the exception of the following behavior:

• "(e.g. Zambia/Zimbabwe) Postal Code and City fields are not autofilled - they remain empty" - they are autofilled now but they not are highlighted in yellow and if clicking on them, autofill dropdown is displayed instead of the Clear autofill dropdown.

@Janika, should we reopen this bug? Thanks!

Sorry, my comment was misleading. For now the expectation is that autofilling dynamic forms is working for supported regions, so it's ok when it's currently failing when the country is first set to Australia, Croatia or Zambia.

Thanks for the clarification! Indeed, I am not reproducing the issue when changing the country from France to Germany.
However, I am still reproducing the issue regarding the Postal Code and City fields being autofilled but not highlighted in yellow and displaying the autofill dropdown instead of the Clear autofill dropdown when changing the country from FR to GB, US and CA.
Based on Comment 2, it seems that US and CA regions will be covered by bug 1962034, but I am uncertain about GB. Could you please confirm?

I was able to reproduce what you describe. The site pre-fills the updated fields with the previously autofilled values. I've filed Bug 1963078 for this issue.
