Steps to reproduce:

I am looking at an email with a remote image, that is not loaded due to privacy reasons. This looks pretty bad -- but the same email, with the same missing image, looks a lot better in K9 / TB-Android, so rendering the email nicer is definitely possible. This in particular affects most Github notifications, where they started to embed images recently, and of which I receive a lot.

Would be nice if Thunderbird would not make me choose between "leak data to Github" and "deal with terrible-looking emails". Nice-looking emails without data leaks should be possible. :)

I will attach a screenshot of how the same email looks with Thunderbird and with K9. This isn't even the worst example, sometimes the text rendered where the image should be even flows into the actual message text in the next line.

This is with "Message Body As - Original HTML". "Simple HTML" works around the problem but renders many other messages extremely poorly, so it's not an option (and it seems this is a global setting, not per-sender or so).
