Affected versions

  • Nightly 138.0a1

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: All

Prerequisites

  • use CA VPN
  • install en-CA build
  • set browser.search.region = CA in about:config

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to https://www.etsy.com/ca/ and add an item to cart
  2. Proceed to checkout and autofill the address
  3. Use the Clear Autofill Form option to clear the fields
  4. Autofill the address form again

Expected result

  • All fields are autofilled correctly.

Actual result

  • After using autofill multiple times in a row, some fields remain empty randomly, and the Clear Autofill Form option no longer appears when the fields are not highlighted.
  • As an additional note, triggering autofill in the Zip Code field does not autofill the field.

Regression range

  • N/A

Additional notes

  • The issue can be reproduced in Chrome.
  • Please see this recording and the Fathom Fox page. Couldn't save the screenshot-www.etsy.com.
  • Please see also Bug 1753666 where it is mentioned "Etsy overwrites our autofill styles in this case".

This behavior is also reproducible on the US version of Etsy (www.etsy.com).

  • Autofill inconsistently highlights fields—some fields like City, State, and Confirm Email may remain unhighlighted even when autofilled, though this varies.
  • The State dropdown sometimes remains on "Select state" despite being autofilled.
  • The Clear form option only removes data from highlighted fields, while unhighlighted fields may retain autofilled information.
  • Autofill initially works as expected but becomes unreliable on subsequent attempts—fields may stop triggering the dropdown, lose visibility, or fail to autofill entirely.
  • The issue reproduces regardless of the state of the dynamic form support prefs.
