apostrophe appears as ´ (alt + 0142) and many other letters are not correct.
changing the font did not help
french pages, german pages partly illegible because of corrupt fonts

What character coding are these pages appearing as? Have you tried 
changing the encoding?

Try ISO-8859-1 encoding

Please recheck this bug against a recent nightly build[1] to verify that the
behavior still exists and post the results here.
