I ran Thunderbird 139.0a1 (2025-04-01) on Wayland in Plasma 6.3.3 in a Fedora 42 KDE Installation. My profile was set to automatically check for emails on an IMAP server, but the internet connection hadn't been established yet between the router and ISP. The connection to the IMAP server was timing out as a result. I closed Thunderbird. Thunderbird opened a site in FIrefox which didn't load for the same reason. The Thunderbird icon remained in the System Tray of Plasma for about 90 s. The Crash reporter appeared. The crash had the same reason "Shutdown hanging at step XPCOMShutdownThreads. Something is blocking the main-thread. " and a similar trace to the one I reported in Bug 1782445 which was closed.
