When trying to get mail (POP here, several accounts) witha non-connected
network, mailnews hangs indefinitely, even after network timeout limit has
reached getting mail is no longer possible. There are a couple of (sometimes
very old, but) still open bugs with a couple of variants of this behaviour.
The connections cannot reestablished by closing and opening mail again,
only a complete new startup of Mozilla helps.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.disconnect network
2.select 'get all messages' => throbber spins
3.wait until network timeout triggers => throbber stops
4.reconnect network, and, maybe, surf a bit
5.try getting mail => does nothing (of course, some mail should be on the server)
6.close and reopen mailnews => does not help
Actual Results:
mailnews cannot be used to get mail until Mozilla restart
Expected Results:
Should be able to get mail at least after network timeout triggered.
Seems to be a kind of regression through the 1.3 series, with older
Mozillas I was at least able to reconnect with mail when surfing
a while with the browser after network reconnection.
