Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:137.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/137.0
Steps to reproduce:
Type a message in HTML in a new email window.
Actual results:
When composing a message in HTML, the space bar does not let the cursor advance to the next position. When typing, the spaces do not show. I did notice however if I use a space and follow that by arrow right that the space is there.
As far as I can see all other keys work as expected. It is just that the space bar reacts like mentioned.
Expected results:
Expected result is that the cursor moves one position when typing a space.

I disabled '[ ] Compose messages in HTML format' for now to be able to type emails.

Sorry it is a bit messy bug reporting, but I forgot to mention I use Ubuntu Snap Thunderbird Beta channel
I can't reproduce this on KDE neon 6.3, I'm not using snap.
Tested with 138.0b1 (20250403012914) beta-localtest which (for me) lives in ~/mozilla/beta.

It is probably due to the snap environment. I was never too crazy about that anyway, but with the last 24.04 update to Neon snap was pushed in my face ;), and it seemed the only possibility to run the beta's. I now moved back to the regular mozilla team ppa (i could not find a beta channel there). Thanks for checking @michel
Test:
Windows 10 OS
Thunderbird beta 138.0b2 originally downloaded from https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/
In 'Write' composing window - type text and use spacebar and it increments a space as expected.
So, Works ok for this OS and version.

If anyone can confirm this is a snap issue, that would be helpful.
