I had to divide pulls using -r switch to pull around 21000 changesets as a workaround.

Maybe related to recent countermeasures for DDoS?

Sorry, the message already scrolled out. It is currently not reproducible because the local tree is near up-to-date.
I'll report back when the problem happens again.
