Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; NetBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20030108
If i delete a message from the Inbox it moves to Trash, but the mail database
file (.mozilla/default/f0dano5m.slt/Mail/ncbr.chemi.muni.cz/Inbox) still
contains the message. This results to very large Inbox file after some time
(~50MB). The same applies to Trash file (i.e. message is deleted - is not
displayed in application, but database still contains it) and also to my
subfolder files (I use them for mail filtering). I thought it could be caused by
the "Leave messages on server; delete 'em if they are deleted or moved from
inbox" setting. I disabled it, but the result is negative - the size of Inbox
and other files is still increasing with every incoming mail.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to mail database dir (.mozilla/default/f0dano5m.slt/Mail/ncbr.chemi.muni.cz)
2. check contents/size of Inbox
3. delete 1 file from Inbox in client
4. check contents/size of Inbox, Trash
5. remove the deleted file from Trash in client
6. check contents/size of Trash
Actual Results:
Deleted message is no longer displayed in Mail client Inbox folder, but remains
in both Inbox and Trash files. After removal from Trash, message is no longer
displayed in Mail client Trash folder, but remains in both Inbox and Trash files.
Expected Results:
After step 3: Move message physically from Inbox to Trash and remove it from
Inbox file.
After step 5: Remove the message physically from Trash.
I'm not sure whether i have the latest version. Mozilla I use is built from
source from the NetBSD's software package collection.
