Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/18.3 Safari/605.1.15

Steps to reproduce:

as root:
$ pacman -Syyu && pacman -S firefox
Open firefox
Open a website for reading (e.g. news)
Press ctrl+alt+R
Version of FF: All for many year on end
DE testen on: KDE

Actual results:

It regards ALL versions of Firefox. Firefox is only software that is coded specifically on MS Windows. None of the Mozilla employees use anything other than MS Windows. All work is done specifically for MS Windows. Nobody is using any other system.

On any distribution the shortcut restarts Firefox instead of opening the Reader for ease of reading and better pre-programmed (now available to change) colors. The shortcuts is specifically hard-coded by Mozilla to be only compatible with what Mozilla employees use, but not what users of Firefox use. Firefox users do not use MS Windows. The market share of Firefox on MS Windows is abysmal and not important anymore.

Expected results:

Mozilla employees to ditch Microsoft Windows and start using other operating systems as a daily driver, exclusively. The majority of Firefox users are non Microsoft users. Mozilla should cater for the real users, not imaginative users that don't use Firefox. Overwhelming majority of MS Windows users use Chrome. Only a small fraction of a percentage is using Firefox. Firefox is not preinstalled on MS Windows. Firefox is preinstalled on almost any distribution, either with GNU Mach kernel or other kernels or any BDS distribution or even HAIKU. Hence Mozilla should primarily focus on the real users. The employees should ditch the MS Windows from their laptops once and for all and start coding for the real user base, not for the imaginary users that don't exist and haven't existed for the last 10 years.

This is not an advocacy platform, and you might want to take a look at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=etiquette.html

Shortcurs are not customizable at the moment, and the choice of that shortcut for Reader Mode has literally nothing to do with what OS developers use.
