Verified as implemented: the "x" option is only present in the "Search downloads" when there is text in the search field; if the field is empy, then the "x" option is not displayed.
Verified on the latest Firefox for Android nightly 139.0a1 from 4/27 with Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (Android 14), and OnePlus 5 (Android 10).
