User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030306 Camino/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030306 Camino/0.7 Camino appears to be miscalculating the required horizontal space when it renders a page with the Optima font. Text that precedes a URL, <code> tag or other font/style change will overlap the text rendered in the subsequent font. This may be a local font corruption problem, but if so it does not occur in Explorer, TextEdit, or other applications. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit the Camino home page. I can provide a screen shot or additional details about my system if needed.
WorksForMe using Camino/2003030613. Scott, what Text Encoding is selected in the View/Text Encodings menu when this happens?
Text encoding is Western (ISO Latin 1).
WorksForMe in 2003030808.
WFM Camino 2003051604 Scott, are you still seeing this problem with current builds? If so could you please provide a build id and attach a screen shot if that's not too much trouble
Submitting a screenshot. I still see this problem in the latest builds, but (after further investigation) only on the machine where I originally reported it. If no one else has reported this, I'd suggest closing the bug as a suspected font corruption problem on my end.
*** Bug 199410 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I've created a second account on the same machine (for unrelated reasons), and I noticed the problem is *not* occurring when running Camino from that account: Same machine, same fonts (?), but when I view the Camino home page from the second account, the fonts are not overlapping.
Alex, can you confirm/deny Scott's report that this can be "fixed" by using a clean profile?
Reporter, Alex, Could this bug be mark worksform (is for me 2003082402) ?
I'm going to resolve this as WFM based on the original reporters findings... but I suspect there really is some underlying graphics problem on OS X as there have been a few other reports of this with other fonts. Alex, if you try using a new profile and that does *not* fix this problem for you please speak up and I'll reopen your original bug.
