Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:137.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/137.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Gmail account.
  2. Enable notifications in settings (allow notifications permission in FF).
  3. Close Gmail tab.
  4. Send an email to the relevant mailbox.

Actual results:

No notifications when tab is closed, only when opened.

Expected results:

Notification should appear when new email received, even when Gmail website is closed.

I think Google services generally do not use push services, that's why. This applies to Google Calendar too, and AFAIK this never works on any browser.
