Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Add new account using the wizard (IMAP. Connect to server (get mail etc). Note which server it connects to (in the status bar) when it connects. Go back to Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings, click on the Server Settings options, and change the "Server Name" to another server. Click OK. Click "Get Msgs" or right-click on account and select "Get Messages for Account". Note (in the status bar) the MUA is still trying to connect to the previous IMAP server. Actual Results: It still tries to connect to the old IMAP server. Expected Results: It should have connected to the new IMAP server. I have been able to reproduce this on 3 others machines at work. 2 run Windows XP (one is a Laptop), and one runs Windows ME.
Reporter do you still see this problem with the latest nightly, or even 1.7.3? If not, this bug has probably been fixed and can be closed. Thanks.

This bug is still occurring (or it came it again) in Thunderbird 78.6.1 (32-Bit) (Windows).
My e-mail provider changed the IMAP server address, so I changed it accordingly in the mail-account settings in Thunderbird.

expected result: Thunderbird connects to the new set IMAP-server after according setting has been changed
actual result: Thunderbird still tries to connect to the initial set IMAP-server (outdated), as it shows a message box, that it can't connect to the IMAP-server (shows the outdated server address).
