Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:138.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/138.0
Steps to reproduce:
Unpower the computer entirely (no battery even) as Firefox is running.
Power it back on, open Firefox.
Actual results:
All favicons are showing as default ugly ones, not the real favicons downloaded from visited websites. (Favicons in Firefox Home) In Bookmarks they are all gone and show a little default globe, as if unvisited, even though the History shows they have been visited and their favicons were downloaded before the power failure.
Strangely, one or two favicons on Firefox Home places screen remain as if downloaded from websites, all the other ones are default ugly ones.
Reproducible on every power failure, it seems. Normal quit
of Firefox works fine.
Expected results:
Should display all downloaded favicons from previously visited websites.
(This has been happening on Firefox 137 and 138). I couldn't pin down what was causing it. I knew it was happening after a power failure, but I didn't think it was the power failure causing it. There may be something needed to be written real quick on shutdown that's so crucial for favicons not to get corrupted?? So bizarre.
I must add I'm on Fedora 40 with BTRFS, if this may make any difference. However, no other open application is showing any signs of corruption upon power failure.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
Ok, not as reproducible as I thought. I had power go out tonight, and icon state was the same as before the shutoff. In the morning when I unplugged the computer, though, favicons got corrupted.
