Steps to reproduce:
Can reproduce this "bug" on this page for example
https://www.nvidia.com/content/Control-Panel-Help/vLatest/en-us/mergedProjects/nvdsp/To_use_variable_refresh_rates.htm
When im on this page and i press on home button (google.com) the page flickers before changing to google.com, if i wait around 5 seconds it doesnt flicker.
looks like it doesnt happen on the first tab but on the other ones.
It also happens when i click on https://outlook.live.com/mail bookmark, the page flickers a couple of times.
It also happens in troubleshoot mode.
Actual results:
The page flickers once or twice before moving to the new page/bookmark i click.
Doesnt seem to happen on most pages, also doesnt happen on my old pc but pages load very slowly there.
Tested and it doesnt flicker on Edge.
Expected results:
shouldnt flicker

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello! Thank you for submitting this issue I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end but unfortunately I wasn't able to with Firefox 140.0a1 (2025-05-08) on Windows 11.
Could you please answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue?
Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
Do you have any addons installed? If yes could you please list them?
Could you please provide a screen recording or a screen shot with the issue?
Hello,
ok so it looks like its my monitor running at a high refresh rate (240hz) causing the (old) webpage to flicker after starting loading a new one, tried 144, 120, 60... and it really doesnt happen anymore with lower refresh rates.
