Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:138.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/138.0

Steps to reproduce:

While using Firefox with native tab grouping enabled, I clicked on the [ + ] button to open a new tab.
My settings are configured so that new tabs open next to the current one.
The currently selected tab belongs to an existing tab group.

Actual results:

The new tab opened within the current tab group, inheriting the context/group of the active tab — without any prompt or option to open it outside the group.

Expected results:

There should be an option to open a new tab outside the current tab group, even when the "open next to current tab" setting is enabled.
Users should be able to control whether a new tab opens inside or outside of the currently active group context.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
