User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030309 Netscape/7.03 (AOL 8.0RC4) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030309 Receiving a personal message should open a new tab in ChatZilla or should apear in the concerning "personal" tab for that contact. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open ChatZilla with an IRC-Channel 2. try to connect with /MSG <nickname> <text> 3. should open a new Tab with <nickname> Actual Results: The sended and recieved private messages are written to the channel tab - not the private tab. Expected Results: An older Version opened a new tab and recieved the concerning messages from the other <nick> in that personal tab.
BTW: This also happens using: @<nickname> <text> same way like using: /MSG <nickname> <text>
I see you're using Netscape, not Mozilla. Received personal messages should create a new tab assuming you have the pref set that way (which is default). You don't say which version of chatzilla you have, but if you have a recent one, look in the pref panel under Interface to find the option. Using /msg will not create a new tab either, use /query instead.
Sorry, you are the wrong track. ;-) Like you can see I use the latest 1.3 build 20030309. The User-Agent Suffix "Netscape/7.03 (AOL 8.0RC4)" is a fake - Bugzilla takes it whithout beeing able to change it - or do you know a Mozilla based Netscape 7.03 AOL8.0 as RC4 ?? ;-) I use the with that Mozilla 1.3 build (20030309) bundled ChatZilla. The Version is: Chatzilla 0.8.23 Some weeks ago the /MSG <nickname> <text> worked for this. OK, /query works to open for myself but how about the incomming messages. They apaer in the channel not the private tab. And formaly it worked to send messages to myself into the private tab and I saw the sending _and_ recieving message - which was nice to me. Anyway, the messages like /MSG <nickname> <text> are so described in the from Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/user-guide.html) linked URL: http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/irctutorial.html#privcom In the Interface-Pref I have all four tap-options activated. a. Create new tab for private messages b. Limit private message tabs to c. Focus Private Message tabs when creates (the typing should be fixed :-)) d. Close tab when you leave a channel And most people/programs (seams to) use @<nickname>[:] to send a private message and those messages apear in ChatZilla as "important message" in the main "server/network tab" _and_ the actual channel tab. (Yes, I selected the "copy important messages to the network tab")
WFM: 2003032708-trunk/Linux. A new tab is created when receiving a personal message.
I think you are misunderstanding. The "important" messages, like the ones that match your nick (e.g. "yournick: something") are not private, they are just ordinary channel messages (everyone sees them).
