User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030228 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030228 Assorted plugin types do not work in later Mozilla builds (or some combination of RealPlayer versions) (I dont know when the breaking point was). Example types used by Real: .rm .ram .rpm All of these types work in IE and some work in the NS7 trunk; some also worked (.rpm) in earlier Moz builds as stated previously. (NOTE: the media HREFs themselves are invalid (404) in the sample URL but should still invoke the helper app) FYI, my Realplayer build number is 18.104.22.1683. Also, on the 'Helper Applications' -> 'Edit' -> 'Extention' input, what should the separator be (space, semicolon, comma) for multiple entries, and could that be indicated on that dialog? I will BCC the the dev guys at Real on this as well so that they may (at their discretion) collaberate. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.load given URL in various browser/builds. 2.note variations on plugin intialization. Actual Results: -No plugin intializes at all in Feb of Mar 2003 Moz builds. -Only type .rpm initializes in 'Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0'. -All render in IE. -No plugin intializes at all in NS4x. Expected Results: If the fix for this merely involves adding types to the Helper Application dialog, this information may still be needed by the Real installer-application's creators?. However, I have tried assorted combination of settings there already without success.
Resolved. Solution is to always add the type attribute (type="audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin" in this case) to the EMBED tag.
