User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021202
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210
When Mozilla 1.3b is pointed to the Linksys WRT54G router's
admin page (http://192.168.1.1 by default, when the router is
in its out-of-the-box state), a username/password dialog box
pops up. When the username (blank by default) and correct
password are entered, Mozilla exits without warning.
This behavior does *not* happen with Mozilla 1.2.1. With that
build, all features of the router's admin pages seem to work
normally.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Mozilla 1.3b.
2. Point browser to http://192.168.1.1/ (or whatever private IP the router is
configured to).
3. Type in a username (if any) and password into the dialog box.
Actual Results:
Browser quits without warning.
Expected Results:
Router admin page should appear.
Router has the latest firmware available as of the reporting date of this bug
(revision 1.02.1, posted to the Linksys site 07 March 2003).
This bug may be related to bug 192476, but appears to be a distinct problem as
far as I can tell.
Hesitant to rate the severity of this any more than "normal," but the
owner/assignee may want to consider doing so, as it makes router administration
impossible with the Mozilla build in question (1.3b).

Does it also happen when you disable pop-up blocking ?
Severity: normal → major

Can you please use a talkback enabled build and provide a talkback ID from that
crash ?
Do you also crash if you save the page (with another browsert) and open the
saved file with Mozilla ?
Went back to my friend's place to try a talkback build and to disable pop-up
blocking. Found out that he had reset the router (hard reset -- button on the
back), after which the crash no longer occurs! I tried several combinations of
popup (un)blocking, javascript settings, saving the page to a file and opening
that, etc., but 1.3b now opens the router admin page without any problems.
If the crash ever re-appears, I will report back with crash info from the
talkback build and a saved copy of the html.
