When I need to re-format somebody's hard drive, there is no easy way of
transferring the client's mail in Mozilla to the newly formatted hard drive.
Most of the time the mail gets lost. Why is it so hard to back up email
messages to be transferred to a new hard drive.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
there are no steps
Expected Results:
there is no way of backing up email. There should be the option in the file
menu to backup email into a format that Mozilla will recognize. And there
should also be a restore email feature to accomplish this transfer with ease.
eh?
A. find an imap mail server and move all the mail from your local folders to
folders on the imap server
B. create an account on the new computer/disk, move the mail folders to the new
computer/disk, in mail account settings>{account name}>server settings change
the path to be the path to the mail folder root that you copied over. or move
your mail folders into that path.
