Dragging links quickly out of the browser content area, then stopping, causes the mouse pointer to become unusable.

The only way I can get round this is by using ALT+F+N+N to get a new window which then grabs the focus and redraws the mouse pointer Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I find as well that if I click for example "Format for printing" on this bug submit page and spin to pointer I get the same effect every time.
