Details
Mozilla 1.3b, Mac OS X and Linux, not Win98 STEPS: type "ftp:/" into the URL bar. You get an error back saying " could not be found" (no hostname). Whatever fixup is occurring, it probably should not create a URL w/ an empty hostname and call DNS.

current behavior (linux seamonkey trunk 2005121604 is to give no UI feedback and print Error loading URL ftp:/// : 8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) to the console
