User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 It produces very confusing results. Typing "important" found a word where "imp" was inside the found word but the word did not start with "imp". Searching for "other" gave me no hits inside a web page although there were several occasions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
'Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130' Can you please download a new nightly build and try again? Typeahead find has made several improvements since 1.2.1.
1.3 (official release) shows the same problems
andreas@andreas-jung.com, are you aware FAYT only finds text in *links*, not regular text?
repoter: please provide a specific webpage, and indicate how you triggered typeahead find (just typing? typing / followed by letters?...)
Version: Trunk → Other Branch
Also, if you could tell us your typeahead preferences, that would be good. Have you changed them from default? Could you please run the following testcases: http://www.mozilla.org/quality/browser/front-end/testcases/keyboard-nav/taf_acceptance.html http://www.mozilla.org/quality/browser/front-end/testcases/keyboard-nav/taf_functional.html Please report any problems you find, including if any testcases fail. Thanks.
After changing the preferences to use all text inside a page everything works fine for me.
