I started Mozilla, but all preferences was lost.
Default profile with no mail, news accounts.
ALL MY MAIL WAS LOST! :-(

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Mozilla someday

Actual Results:  
All preferences and mail(!) is lost.

Expected Results:  
My preferences and mail are kept SAFELY.

Isn't the infamous bug 170539 ? Should be fixed.

As you see Build Identifier is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US;
rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312"

So it is NOT fixed.

Was your history intact? Or bookmarks?
What was in prefs.js after you noticed this?

History and bookmarks were lost too.
Everything was lost, it was like completely new clean installation.

If this is true, it's very different than bug 170539, and not a prefs bug, but
profile bug.

Did it make a new profile dir? Take a look in Documents and
Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles and see if there are any
newly created dirs. What I'm trying to determine is whether the profile was lost
from the profile registry and so a new one was made.
